Why this exists

There's no venture funding and no sales team behind this — just a hobby project, a sustainably-priced service. That means it's run a little leaner than a big company's API: fewer bells and whistles, but also no dark patterns, no upsell emails, and no surprise price hikes.

What powers it

Under the hood, Simple Routing is a gateway over two well-established open-source routing engines: OSRM for routing, distance matrices, and map matching, and VROOM for vehicle routing problem (VRP) solving. Simple Routing hosts and operates these engines so you don't have to, and wraps them in one API key, one dashboard, and one bill.
