The Problem With Car-Routing Algorithms
Standard routing engines — including our own car/driving profile — optimize for passenger vehicles. They'll happily send a truck under a 12'6" bridge or down a road with a 10-ton weight limit, because nothing in the request told them the vehicle wouldn't fit. For fleets running box trucks, tractor-trailers, or hazmat loads, that's not a minor inconvenience — it's bridge strikes, fines, and blocked streets.
